As many entrepreneurs have chosen both Facebook and Twitter as the foremost social tools for building their personal brands, a lot of them are constantly looking for the best way to integrate the two platforms to extend their reach.
When it comes to integrating Twitter with your Facebook Fan Page, the option of having your Twitter stream mixing in with your’s and other’s wall posts and news feeds can become a bit of an annoyance.
The solution is to add a Twitter tab to your Fan Page’s menu, keeping it separate from your Facebook discussion and allowing your fans the option to access it rather than having it clog up your wall.
There are a number of applications available to get a Twitter tab up and running on your page – including the likes of RSS Graffiti which has plenty of options and sharing tools – but in this post I’ll take you through a very quick 7-step process to install the Twitter tab application by Involver, which should take no more than a few minutes.
So if you’ve got a Facebook fan page and want a Twitter tab on your menu for your fans to access, just follow the steps below (Once again I’ll use Lynn as a guinea pig
).
1. First up, make sure you are logged into your Facebook account prior to installing the application. This will save you having to log-in while you’re in the middle of setting things up.
2. In the same browser, go to Involver’s App Page by clicking here. Find the Twitter application box and click on the “Facebook Install” button.

Click on the Facebook Install button in the Twitter box to start the process
3. Your Facebook account will now open and you’ll now be asked if you want to add the application. Click on the blue “Add Twitter for Pages” button to continue.

Click the 'Add Twitter for Pages' button to confirm installation.
4. Next you’ll be taken to the application’s settings page where you’ll need to enter a few details including your Twitter user name. Fill in the blanks, check the Terms of Service box and click “Save Changes” when you’re done.
5. You’ll now be taken to the “Last Step” page which gives you a couple of final instructions to set up the app. I’ll cover these steps next. Click “Continue to Fan Page” to move on.

Continue to your Fan Page to complete the process.
6. Now that you’re back on your Fan Page, click on the “+” tab on your page menu. Then select “Twitter” from the drop-down list and a new Twitter tab will be created on the menu bar.

Simply click on 'Twitter' from the drop-down menu to create a tab. If you don't see it, type 'Twitter for Pages' in the 'Search Available Tabs' box
7. Done! You’ve now got your recent tweets easily accessible to your Facebook contacts. Remember, you can reposition your tab anywhere you want on the page menu by simply clicking and dragging the the tab left or right as desired.

All done! On the right of the page will be your recent tweets, while on the left there will be a link to your Twitter profile and a sharing option for your fans. This may take a moment to kick in, so if it doesn't show up straight away, just wait a little bit and then refresh your page
So that’s all there is to it. Having an individual tab for Twitter is a great way to allow your fans to view your Twitter stream without clogging up their feeds with updates, as well as providing better sharing options and access to your Twitter profile.
As always, let me know your thoughts, questions, alternatives or if you just need a hand in setting it up.
Cheers guys!
Justin.
Update – If you’re getting a message saying “The developer of this application does not currently allow it to be added” and can’t find a way around it, follow the trouble-shooting steps in the comments below or, if that doesn’t work, try a different app like RSS Graffiti or Twitter Tab. A search of Facebook applications should bring up a few other options as well.

Thank you for sharing clear instructions on how to add a Twitter Tab to your FB Fan Page. I did it! Before reading your post, I had no idea that app gallery existed. I appreciate you sharing such helpful tips … and I’ll revisit to read more of your insights for entrepreneurs.
Best,
Jennifer

Thanks for sharing this tip. It was very informative and easy to follow.
I even found a good YouTube application to add as well!
Thanks again.
Make it a great day!

Edward,
Awesome re: the YouTube app. There’s some pretty good ones on there and I haven’t even had a proper look yet. Glad you got something out of it buddy. Have a good one mate.
Jennifer,
Nice work! Just checked out your page, looks great. Glad I could help out.
Cheers guys,
Justin.
I was deligjted to find this because I could not figure out how I could add a twitterstream to a FB Page or group.
But… after clicking the twitter box on the site the programm said: ‘the developer of this app does not allow at this time to add this application.’
Any siggestions what might be ging on, or for other good apps with the same purpose?
Check out the latest post by Gitta – welkom…
Hey Gitta,
Yep, I know the problem you’re talking about. I ran into my myself when I was setting up mine a little while back.
I just put it through a few tests again to see what I could find and the only way I was able to bring the message up was if I was trying to install the app to a page that already had it available. A few spots to check to see if it’s hiding on your page somewhere:
- Click “edit page” under your page’s picture/photo and see if Twitter for Pages is listed under Applications.
- Check to see if Twitter for Pages is listed when you click on the “>>” tab on your page menu.
- Do the same for the “+” tab. If you’ve already got a lot of apps installed on your page, be sure to type “Twitter for Pages” in the “Search available tabs” box as it may not show up initially.
Now if you can’t find it anywhere at all, if you’ve gone through the steps again and you’re still getting the error, then let’s try a different approach.
Try clicking here and see if you have any luck. This link takes you straight to the app acceptance page on Facebook (make sure you’re logged in). You should have a page asking you if you want to add the application as shown in step 3 of the post.
If you’re still having no luck then you might want to try a different application.
Here’s an RSS Graffiti tutorial from Social Media SEO which looks pretty thorough – Click here. You can find a few others by typing “Twitter for Facebook Pages” into Google as well.
Let me know how you go or what you decide to do and feel free to hit me up here or on Facebook/Twitter if you’re still having trouble. If I find anything else in the meantime I’ll let you know.
Hope that helps
Justin.
Wow, I’m always looking for new ideas. thanks for the great tips. Just starting out, I can use all the suggestions from more experienced bloggers. I will definitely check back!

Thanks Justin for the super easy instructions! Much appreciated – I would never have gotten around to doing it without them

Do you have instructions on how to add a Twitter tab to a regular FB profile?
Thanks, Laura
This tip is brilliant!
Is it available for individual profiles? I couldn’t see that it was.
If not do you know why that is?
Just curious,
Chris
Hey Chris and Laura,
As far as I’m aware, the Involver apps are only for pages. But I’m sure there would a number of other apps that you could use for just your profile.
I just did a quick search and found this one – Twitter Tab (click). Looks pretty good, although I haven’t tried it myself. Other than that, you can just Google or do an application search for Twitter Tabs for Facebook Profiles and you should come across a few alternatives to pick from.
Hope that helps guys, good luck with it
Cheers, Juss.
Thanks for the super easy instructions
Hi Justin. Thanks so much for this information. I had no idea these applications were available. I have also added the youtube app, which is very cool.
Thanks again for sharing!
Cheers Clinton, you’re welcome.
Nice work getting both apps on your page as well, looks cool.
Have a good one mate.
Justin.
Wow, Thank you so much. I put the tab on my fanpage already.

Hi, wish it was easy, I have the same trouble as gitta.
Jane
Hey Jane,
Yeah, unfortunately the only cause I know for that problem at the moment is what I explained to Gitta. Sorry that I can’t be of much help with this one.
If those trouble-shooting steps aren’t working out for you, I reckon just have a go at installing a different app – either the RSS Graffiti one (tutorial link is in the reply to Gitta) or the Twitter Tab app which is in the reply to Chris. Both should do the job.
Best of luck with it Jane.
Cheers, Justin.
Thanks for posting this, it was very easy to follow.
Can you share how you install the “share & enjoy” widget? I have been searching for directions on how to install forever!!
Great blog & content!!
Hi Latrice, no problem
As for the Share and Enjoy thing, that’s the “Sexy Bookmarks” widget for WordPress.
Click here for their website and here for the plugin page on WordPress (log into WP, type Sexy Bookmarks into the plugin search and click install for an easier setup).
Those links and the set up page of the plugin have all the steps you’ll need for setting it up.
Hope that helps.
Cheers, Justin.
Thank you Justin! It is so fun learning new skills! I appreciate the step-by-step approach! That’s what I need!

I notice that this app posts the most recent tweet at the bottom. Is there a way to make the most recent tweet be on top like on twitter?
Hey Tonie,
To be completely honest with you, I wouldn’t have a clue. That’s a bit of a weird one for me and unfortunately I haven’t come across that problem. As that’s a bit out my league, your best bet would be to ask the guys at Involver. Apparently their main support page is at GetSatisfaction.com, but although they seem to be linked I think you’d be more likely to be seen/get a response from someone or perhaps find an email from the support crew directly on their Facebook page – Click Here.
Wish I had an answer for you Tonie. Hope you can find a fix for it.
Cheers, Justin.
Thanks Justin! It kind of just fixed itself when it updated. However, every once in a while the tweets still appear out of order. Hopefully it’s just a glitch. Thank you for your very helpful article and quick response.
You’re welcome Tonie, glad it’s (kinda) sorted out
Yeah, most probably some kind of updating problem. There have been a few times where it’s taken ages to grab the most recent tweets on mine, but I haven’t had the order shuffled yet.
Anyway, thanks for letting me know how you got on. Have a good one.
Cheers, Justin.
Thanks for the super easy tip, installed it in a matter of minutes.

Question: My Twitter feed is backwards on the tab – oldest Tweets are first and higlighted. Can this be fixed?
Thanks!
Hey Emily,
No idea to be honest (sorry!). Tonie mentioned this same problem a few posts up and apparently it corrected itself in time. See how it goes, or you could just jump on the Involver Fan Page (links above) and ask around there. Hope it works out for ya
Cheers, Juss.
Thanks Justin, I’ve still got a long way to go creating pages much less adding all the widgets and stuff. I really appreciate your teaching us all the tricks. Thanks

Justin, Thanks for offering this additional tool. You got so many of us involved and you explain it so clearly. Now I will attempt to add it to my page.
I ran into a problem. It kept saying “enter a valid email address.” So finally I just added a different email address and that was accepted. Thanks for showing us this tool.
Erica
Justin, THANK YOU, this worked like a charm!
I had no idea that there was a twitter app. I do not have a page yet myself but am helping with a few who have. They however have not opted into being avid Twitter users… I hope when they do I will remember how to find this post again.
